About Us

Established as a corporation in 1992 and located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, twenty miles southeast of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Laurel Highlands Fence Company was founded by Helen Marietta along with her husband Harold "Butch" Marietta and a few select chosen investors. Helen and Butch had been running, Marietta Construction, a small fence installation company out of their home for the past 18 years, but they had dreamed of their own building, a nice office with a warehouse and a larger customer base.

They started out in a tiny one room building, offering their customers quality products, superior craftsmanship for a great price. Wanting it to be a family oriented business, they recruited their son, Tony Marietta, to run one of the first installation crews.  Helen and Butch would unload tractor trailer trucks of wire, pipe and fittings, answer phones, wait on customers and process all the paper work themselves until they were able to hire their first yardman, Bill Augustine, who is still with the company today and is an intricate part of the companies daily operations. By 1997, they were able to purchase their own property and build a brand new facility, a warehouse which houses an in-house metal, vinyl and wood fabrication shops, fittings room. Also, a full stocked yard, outdoor show room, office with state of the art computer fence software and a paved parking lot.

Since then, the staff has grown to a team of trained professionals, and the company has grown to include not only commercial and residential fence but, railings, gazebos, arbors. and specializing in residential and commercial automated gates.
